What Is a Personality Assessment?

A personality assessment uses standardized psychological measures combined with clinical interpretation to evaluate emotional functioning, personality traits, coping patterns, and psychological strengths and challenges.

These assessments help clarify:

  • Mood and emotional regulation patterns

  • Anxiety and stress responses

  • Personality features that impact relationships and functioning

  • Coping strategies and behavioral tendencies

  • Underlying contributors to psychological distress

Personality assessments are often used to support treatment planning, diagnostic clarification, and personalized therapy approaches.
